inflorescence with 3-7 flowers; floral bracts triangular, deep purple to yellowish, 3-5 mm long; pedicel and ovary 4.5-6 cm long; flowers usually fragrant; sepals and petals white, abaxially often slightly tinged with pale purple-red; lip white with dark purple or purplish-brown stripes and spots, often wholly turning reddishbrown during later stage; column purple-pink above; sepals and petals nearly narrowly obovate, 5.8-7.5 cm x 1.8-2.4 cm, apex obtuse to acute; lateral sepals pendulous or curved downward; petals clasping the column, often oblique; lip nearly broadly obovate in outline, 5.8-6.5 cm x 5.5-6.5 cm, 3-lobed, base fused to the basal margins of the column for 3-4 mm; side-lobes erect, to 2 cm wide, ciliate; mid-lobe nearly oblate, 1.8-2.2 cm x 2-3 cm, minutely hairy, apex slightly erose to mucronate, ciliate; disc hairy adaxially, with 2 longitudinal lamellae running from its base to near the base of the mid-lobe and conspicuously dilated apically; column 4.2-4.5 cm long, arcuate, sparsely pubescent below the middle; pollinia 2, cleft, nearly pear-shaped.
