It produces Taiwan ( Wuzhishan, Chatianshan ), Hubei ( Zigui, Shennongjia ), Sichuan ( Xuyong, Emeishan, Pingshan, Hejiang, Nanchuan, Junlian, Qixian, Yunyang ), Yunnan ( Xichou, Pingbian, Xishuangbanna, Jingdong, Cangyuan, Simao, Nujiang River Basin ) and southeastern Tibet ( Motuo ). Born at an altitude of 800-1700 meters of evergreen broad-leaved forest. It is also distributed in Sikkim, northeast India, Vietnam and Japan. The type specimen was collected from Sikkim. |

Stem : Rhizome not obvious. Pseudobulbs finely cylindrical, 1-3 cm long, 3-5 mm thick, 3-6 leaves, no obvious pseudostem. |

Leaves : Leaves fully expanded during flowering, elliptic to ovate-elliptic, resembling Alisma orientalis leaves, usually 10-14 cm long, up to 20 cm long, 4-10 cm wide, apex acute or acute, base cuneate or rounded and contracted narrowly handle, margin slightly undulate, glabrous on both sides, sometimes the back sparsely covered with short hairs ; petiole slender, longer or shorter than leaf blade, 6-20 cm long or longer, ca. 4 mm thick. |

Flowers : 1-2 scapes, drawn from leaf axils, erect, slender, ca. as long as leaves, densely pubescent, with 1-2 sheaths and bract-like leaves below inflorescence ; sheath tubular, 1-1.5 cm long ; raceme 3-4 cm long, with 3 to 10 flowers ; bracts persistent, herbaceous, slightly curved, broadly ovate-lanceolate, 5-10 mm long, base 4-7 mm wide, apex acuminate or slightly obtuse, margin undulate ; pedicel and ovary up to 2 cm long, pubescent ; flowers white or sometimes light pansy ; the sepals are nearly similar, nearly obovate, about 1 cm long, 6 mm wide above the middle, slightly obtuse at the apex, with 5 veins, only the central 3 veins are more obvious, and the back is dark brown hairy ; petals subrhombic, 8 mm long, middle 4 mm wide, apex obtuse, base constricted, 3-veined, glabrous ; lip base connate with entire style column wing, larger than sepal, spreading forward, 3 - lobed ; lateral lobes linear or narrowly oblong, ca. 8 mm in length, ca. 2 mm in width, apex rounded, several nodular appendages between both lobes and densely grayish setose ; the middle lobe is fan-shaped, much larger than the lateral lobe. The apex is nearly truncated, 2-fissure deep ( the fissure is 2 / 5 of the length of the middle lobe ), about 1 cm wide near the apex, and the base is narrowed to claw, glabrous ; distance cylindrical, slender, stiff straight, nearly parallel to ovary, ca. 1 cm long, glabrous ; the column is about 3 mm long, slightly enlarged at the upper end, glabrous ; stamen beak 2-lobed, lobes nearly oblong, 1.2mm long, about 0.5mm wide, apex subtruncate ; the cap is narrowed at the front end, and the front end is truncated ; pollen mass ovoid, subequal, ca. 2 mm long.
