红河蝴蝶兰Phalaenopsis honghenensis
It occurs in southern Yunnan ( Honghe Prefecture ) and is found on trees or stones in forests at an altitude of 1200-1300 m. | ||
Root : aerial root developed, fleshy, long and curved, surface dense verrucous protrusions.
Stems : Stems short, with few sheaths or leaf bases covered.
Leaves : leaf margin entire, fleshy, in 2 rows, oblong or oval, leaf base was folded, apex tip, front green, back cloth purple spots, main vein slightly protruding.

Inflorescences : Inflorescences from lateral side of base of stem, raceme, with 1 to more flowers ; longer than leaves, green with purple spots on stem ; bracts broadly triangular, ca. 0.9 mm, attached to pedicel base, apex acuminate, back with purple spots. Flowers open, medium, pale pink, stem ca. 3. 5 cm ; middle sepals subspatulate, ca. 2 cm long, 0. 9 mm wide ; lateral sepals elliptic or ovate, ca. 2 cm long, ca. 1.2 cm wide ; petals subobovate, ca. 1. 8 cm long, ca. 1 cm wide ; lip flap with long claw, 3-lobed, middle lobe slightly thick fleshy, wide obovate, base with a purple and apex deep split into 2 fork-shaped appendages ; lateral lobe base with 1 centrally opposite ridge.
Flowering : April - June.
