It is produced in southwestern Anhui ( Dabie Mountains ), eastern Zhejiang ( Yinxian, Tiantai, Xianju ), western Fujian ( Ninghua ), northwestern Guangxi ( Tian 'e ), Sichuan ( location unknown ), southeastern Yunnan ( Shiping, Wenshan, Malipo, Xichou ). Born on a semi-humid mountain rock at an altitude of 1600 meters. Type specimens from China ( location unknown ).

Stems : Stems erect, cylindrical, 9-35 cm long, 2-4 mm thick, unbranched, multinodal, internodes 1-3-1.7 cm long, often alternating 3-5 leaves above the middle. | ||
Leaves : Leaves biseriate, papery, oblong lanceolate, 3-4 ( -7 ) cm long, 9-11 ( -15 ) mm wide, apex obtuse and hooked, base extended to stem sheath, margin and midrib often pale purple ; the leaf sheath often has purple spots. In old age, the upper edge of the leaf sheath is loose from the stem and opens, and leaves a circular iron green gap with the node. | ||
Flowers : racemes often from the upper part of the old stems with fallen leaves, with 2-3 flowers ; peduncle 5-10 mm, base with 2-3 short sheaths ; inflorescence axis folded, 2-4 cm long ; bracts membranous, pale white, ovate, 5-7 mm long, apex slightly obtuse ; pedicel and ovary 2-2.5cm long ; sepals and petals yellow-green, nearly similar, oblong lanceolate, about 1.8 cm long, 4-5 mm wide, apex acute, with 5 veins ; lateral sepal base wider, ca. 1 cm wide ; calyx sac conical, ca. 5 mm long, terminally rounded ; lip valve white, base with 1 green or yellow corpus callosum, ovate-lanceolate, slightly shorter than sepals, middle retroflexed, apex acute, undivided or obscurely 3-lobed, both sides below middle with purplish red stripes, margin somewhat undulate ; lip disc densely pubescent hairy, and above the middle with 1 purple patch ; stamens yellowish green, ca. 3 mm, both sides of apex with 1 purple spot ; stamen column yellow green with purplish red stripes, sparse hair ; herbal hat white, long ovate triangle, ca. 2. 3 mm long, apex nearly acute and 2 - lobed.
