Stems : Plants with creeping rhizomes and erect or oblique stems. Stems scattered on stolons, branched or unbranched, 6-9 cm long, 2-4 mm thick, sub-lignous, completely sheathed.

Leaves : Leaves in two columns, obliquely erect, thick fleshy, closely sheathed, both sides compressed into a dagger-like shape, 3-5 cm long, 6-10 mm wide, base sheathed, 1 joint at junction with sheath.

Flowers : inflorescence often terminal, about 1 cm long, dense short racemes, often with several small flowers ; bracts membranous, broadly ovate, 4-7 mm long, apex acute ; pedicel and ovary are about 3 mm long ; flowers purple black, thick fleshy, spreading ; middle sepals elliptic, 4-5 mm long, 2-2.5 mm wide, apex acute ; lateral sepals obliquely ovate triangular, as long as middle sepals and slightly wider, apex acute, base oblique, sepal sac larger ; petals oblong, 4-4.5mm long, about 1mm wide, apex nearly rounded and short ; lips ligulate, thickly fleshy, adnate to the end of style, 6-7 mm long, 2.5-3 mm wide, outside curved above middle, apex rounded, with 1 mastoid below near apex, margin slightly torn at both sides of middle ; stamens dark purple, ca. 1.5 mm long ; pistils 4-5 mm long, 1.3 mm wide ; the cap is nearly conical, the front edge is truncated, and the top is densely covered with microemulsion.
