禄劝玉凤花Habenaria luquanensis
Plant terrestrial, 24–34 cm tall. Tubers 2, unlobed, oblong to ellipsoid, 2.8–4.2 × 1–1.3 cm, fleshy, neck with several slender roots. Roots 2–4 × 0.2 cm. Stem erect, terete, slender, glabrous, 1–2 mm thick, with 4–5 loosely arranged rosette leaves and 4–6 bract-like leaflets above, base with 2 sheaths. | ||
Leaf blade oblong-lanceolate, base cuneate, apex acute, 4–8 × 2.2–4.5 cm, with 5–7 veins, herbaceous, basally amplexicaul, adaxially green, abaxially pale green and main vein yellowish white. Bract-like leaves 1.2–2.5 × ca. 1 cm, the lowest the largest. | ||
Inflorescence terminal, 20–30 cm long, raceme middle-dense, 10–16 flowered; rachis 6–8 cm long. Floral bracts lanceolate, 0.4–1.3 cm long, ca. 1/3–1/2 length of ovary. Ovary terete, glabrous, slightly arching, not differentiated from pedicel, 1–2.4 cm long. Flowers white, 1.2–1.4 cm in diameter. Dorsal sepal green, broadly elliptic, 2–3 × 4–6 mm, concave, abaxially keeled, apex acute, 3-veined. Lateral sepals white and in the distal half greenish, oblong to lanceolate, 5 × 2 mm, spreading and recurved, apex acute, 3-veined. Petals white, linear, spreading and ascending, 4–11 × 1.2 mm, 1-veined, apex acuminate. Lip white, 3-lobed to 1/3–1/4 from base, 0.5–1 cm long; lateral lobes narrowly oblong, size 5–11 × 2–3 mm; mid-lobe linear, 5–11 × 1–1.5 mm. Spur white, cylindric, slender, 1–3.5 cm long, longer than ovary; central rostellum lobe subulate, ca. 1.5 mm long, at front margin of spur mouth. Anther erect, with short and moderately wide connective and parallel locules; caudicles oblong, slender; viscidium ovate; stigma stalks 2, separate, with ovate stigmatic areas ca. 0.5 mm long. Distribution:—Only two populations of the new species have been found in the Pudu River valley, Luquan County,northern Yunnan, China. | ||
