天保盆距兰Gastrochilus tianbaoensis
Type:—CHINA. Yunnan: Malipo County, Tian Bao, limestone forest, 1000 m, 23 Nov 2015, Liu 210 (holotype: HITBC!).
Gastrochilus tianbaoensis is similar to G. acinacifolius Tsi (1989: 25), G. brevifimbriatus Yi (2010: 114) and G.guangtungensis Tsi (1996: 139), but can be distinguished from them by its brownish purple stripe on the midribs of leaves with sparse brownish purple spots and cupular hypochile without purple spots on exterior and with 1 ridge on the outside of hypochile.
Epiphytic herbs, stems 4.0–11.0 cm, compressed terete, 2.6–3.6 mm diam. Leave dark green with brownish spots and purple stripe on the midribs (especially fresh leaves), distichous, falcate to lanceolate, 4.4–7.2 × 0.9–1.5 cm, acute, unevenly bilobed with awns (fresh leaves), base sheathed and jointed; leaf sheaths tightly amplexicaul, 5–7mm. Inflorescence opposite to leaves, subumbellate, 3–5-flowered; peduncle 0.9–1.2 cm, with 2 or 3 tubular sheaths at base. Floral bracts triangular, small, 1–2 mm; pedicle and ovary 0.6–0.8 cm. Flowers widely opening, sepals and petals yellow-green with purplish red spots; lip white, with yellow and purple-red spotted cushion on epichile. Dorsal sepals, obovate, concave, 4.1–5.2 × 2.1–2.3 mm, apex obtuse; lateral sepals obliquely obovate, concave, 3.7–4.5 × 2.0–2.2mm, apex obtuse; petals obovate—lanceolate, concave, 3.4–4.3 × 1.5–1.7 mm, obtuse. Lip with an epichile and a saccate hypochile; epichile ovoid to oblong, around 1/3 the height of hypochile, adaxially glabrous, margin irregularly denticulate, 1.7–2.1 × 4.1–4.3 mm; hypochile white, cupular, 3.3–4.8 mm tall, 3.0–3.2 mm in diam., margin with purple stripes, bottom yellow with purple spots, out sides with 1 ridge. Column stout, ca. 2 mm; anther cap galeate, narrowly triangular with recurved-acuminate apex, 1.6 × 1.7 mm; pollinia 2, ca. 0.8 mm in diam.; stipe elongate, ca.1.6 mm; viscidium elliptic, thick and bilobed; rostellum bilobed with acuminated tip, and arising an horn–like awn from the center of each lobe (obvious in the lateral view). Capsules cylindrical with 3 significant ridges, 24–30 × 8–8.5mm.

花序柄与叶对生，近伞形，3-5花；花序梗0.9-1.2厘米，具2或3管状鞘在基部。花苞片三角形，小，1-2毫米；花梗和子房长0.6-0.8厘米。花大开，萼片和花瓣黄绿色具紫红色斑点；唇部白色，在外种皮上具黄色和紫色红色斑点垫。背萼片，倒卵形，凹，4.1-5.2×2.1-2.3毫米，先端钝；侧萼片斜倒卵形，凹，3.7-4.5×2.0-2.2毫米，先端钝；花瓣倒卵形披针形，凹形，3.4-4.3×1.5-1.7毫米，钝。唇部具一外种皮和一囊状下胚珠；上种皮卵球形到长圆形，大约下胚轴高度的1/3，正面无毛，边缘不规则具小齿，1.7-2.1×4.1-4.3毫米；下胚轴白色，杯状，高3.3-4.8毫米，直径3.0-3.2毫米，边缘有紫色条纹，底部黄色带紫色斑点，外侧有1个脊。柱状粗壮，约2毫米；花药帽盔状，狭三角形具下弯的渐尖先端，1.6×1.7毫米；花粉柄2，直径约0.8毫米；柄拉长，约1.6毫米；粘性椭圆形，厚而双叶；喙瓣双叶具渐尖的尖端，从每个裂片的中心长出一角状芒（侧视图明显）。蒴果圆柱形，有3个明显的脊，24-30×8-8.5毫米。 |
